The Sirens
Sirens are the more primal and evil cousin of the Merfolk. It is a species made solely of females that produce more sirens through mating with a merman or human male. Their tail and hair colour varies from Black, White, Dark Blue and any shade in between. In addition, their tails are naturally longer and stronger with lithe and tone upper human bodies compared to Merfolk. This allows them to chase ships as well as do a little damage to ships and predators if need be. The one thing that really sets apart Merfolk to Sirens other than their usual darker colours are their pale skin, their four fangs (2 incisors sharpened on the top of the jaw and 2 on the bottom) and their yellow glowing eyes.

A Sirens diet mainly consists of feasting on the flesh and blood of small prey, however they much prefer the blood of a human. To catch small prey, they use their speed and strength of their tails and sharp claw like nails. To catch large prey, such as humans, the melodic trademark of their voices together or solo can lure ships onto rocks or arouse and/or lure men (and women too) to the sea. Sirens prefer to feast on human males.

Much like the Merfolk, Sirens live together in Tribes. Because they work better hunting in groups, they live together in groups no larger than 25. If a Tribe grows beyond 25, they will find a safe new living area for some of the Tribe to split off and live. For example, Naiya lives under water in a homely reef near a group of small uninhabited Islands, hence she calls herself Naiya of the Sireena Islands. Since there aren't that many Sirens, they introduce themselves with the name of their mother and if they're a first, second or third child. For example, Naiya is the first born of Majorie, hence it's Naiya, First of Majorie.

Merfolk tend to live to be 300 years old. Sirens may live to be 500 or more easily due to their interesting diet. Sirens stay young unlike Merfolk but mature at the same rate a human would mature. It is considered taboo and frowned upon for Merfolk to mingle or even befriend with the Sirens. Sirens are seen as evil in the eyes of the Merfolk and Humans, so it is hard for Sirens to reproduce without hypnotizing their mate with their voice.
The sireena islands
The Sireena Islands are a group of many uninhabited small islands. Some are smaller than others and most consist of 75% of rocky shore lines. The bigger islands have jungles, many animals, fresh water and white sandy beaches. The Sireena Islands are so big that two Tribes occupy the reefs of the islands. Naiya lives with the Tribe of 15 Sirens in the East of the Sireena Islands with the biggest Island to hunt by. The other Tribe of 8 lives in the West of the Sireena Islands with the second biggest islands to hunt by. The East and West Tribes are divided by many other smaller islands. There is no bad blood between them, it is just easier to feed this many Sirens when their divided up. See picture above of Naiya's under water home.
Characteristics of naiya
Naiya's hair and tail are white with a slight glowing blue hue. Like the other sirens, Naiya doesn't cover her breasts and had three thin and long gills on each side of her chest that close whenever her head is above water. Her eyes are always a glowing yellow and her tail is very long and proves her power and strength to other sirens and merfolk.

Naiya knows a little bit of Common tongue but mainly speaks the language of the Merfolk. Siren's have a foreign accent compared to the Merfolk even though they speak the same language. She has a light and playful personality and finds humans as interesting as she does appetizing. Naiya is the first born of Majorie. Majorie was also a very strong white tailed Siren and has 2 daughters including Naiya. Naiya has never met her Father, like most Sirens, although she does know his name and that he is a Merman.

1. Your character is being used as bait to lure a mermaid, little do the mermaid hunters know that they're near the sireena islands
The Pirate Ship had tied a male prisoner to a pole in some deep waters and then anchored nearby. Some men sat in a row boat near the prisoner ready to capture a mermaid with weapons and a few large nets.

Out of no where, there began a beautiful enchanting song of one voice. It would go quiet for a few moments and then the voice began again, only joined by another in harmony. As time continued, more voices joined . Men began to be lured to jump ship and row boat into the dark ocean waters by Sirens, the beautiful heartfelt melodies continued. It was angelic... and hypnotic at the same time. Some men drowned, others had their necks torn into right away. Wails filled the air before being drowned as the men were dragged deep into the water by a hungry Siren. Things went quiet and dead bodies sunk to the ocean floor.
Something swam beneath the male prisoner that was tied to the wooden bait pole. It was something that seemed to be the same colour of the moon almost. It circled over and over, out of his reach until finally half a face poked up from the water a meter in front of him. It was a long white haired young woman with the gleaming yellow eyes of a Siren. She had dark lashes and animalistic eyes that watched him. Underneath the water he could slightly see the faint white ghostly blue colour of her large tail beneath the surface.

Naiya watched the human male squirming. To his luck, she had been the first to discover him. There was 19 other sirens swimming around and finishing up their meals low the surface near the ship, not visible to the prisoner's eyes .The moonlight seemed to illuminate her hair in the dark waters. Naiya remained in one spot, watching him with careful eyes.
